The UK’s swine flu (H1N1) vaccination programme will get underway on October 21st, the Department of Health has announced.

Priority patients receiving in-patient care in hospital will be the first to receive the vaccination.

In the week commencing October 26th the vaccine will be available to individuals in priority groups from their GP.

Individuals with HIV are specifically mentioned on the UK government’s official website as a priority group to receive the vaccine.

All people with HIV are advised to register with a GP. HIV clinics retain a list of GP practices. You can also find details of a GP close to you by going to the NHS Choices website or by calling NHS Direct on 0845 46 47.
