New role for Keith Alcorn at NAM

After an incredible 27 years as a staff member at NAM, Keith Alcorn is stepping into a new role and a new relationship with the organisation. Going forward, Keith will be working with us as a freelance consultant, contributing news and conference reporting to aidsmap.com and editing infohep.org, our website covering hepatitis treatment news.

Keith joined NAM in 1991, soon after the organisation’s founding four years earlier. As senior editor, Keith led the development of many of our key projects, including the AIDS Reference Manual, the HIV & AIDS Treatments Directory and the HIV & AIDS Treatment in Practice newsletter. He founded both aidsmap.com and infohep.org, as well as writing thousands of news stories for the two sites.

“For 27 years, Keith has been a leading light in HIV treatment information,” said NAM’s executive director Matthew Hodson. “He has played a key role in ensuring that people with HIV have access to reliable, accurate and independent information about their treatment and care. The resources he has produced have supported the work of healthcare professionals and countless other organisations around the world.”

Keith will be working as a freelance consultant, to give him more time to complete a PhD. Roger Pebody will be overseeing the content of aidsmap.com in his new role as managing editor. “We are delighted that Keith will continue to contribute to NAM’s work,” said Matthew.
