Behavioural Research on AIDS will take place in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, from

February 13-16, 2000.

Glossary

UNAIDS

The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) brings together the resources of ten United Nations organisations in response to HIV and AIDS.

The mission of the conference is both to improve the

quality of life of people with HIV/AIDS, and to contribute to limiting the

further spread of HIV. The organisers aim:

  • to provide a platform for the exchange of recent

    scientific insights and results

  • to provide a platform for the exchange of lessons

    learned by AIDS Service Organisations in the areas of care, education,

    prevention and advocacy

  • to stimulate practical and effective collaboration

    between disciplines and European regions

  • to identify and to explore new issues and trends in

    HIV/AIDS related research and practice

to explore and further develop a specific European

approach to both HIV/AIDS related research and practice.

The conference is co-sponsored by the Joint United

Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), and will be hosted by the Aids Fonds,

Keizersgracht 390, 1016 GB Amsterdam, Netherlands.
