Following its closure in July 2024, aidsmap (previously NAM aidsmap) is now part of Terrence Higgins Trust, an HIV charity based in the United Kingdom.
After 37 years of pioneering health journalism, community engagement, and the empowerment of expert clinicians and patients through independent, accurate and accessible information about HIV, we are proud to carry forward aidsmap’s important legacy.

We are a team of Terrence Higgins Trust staff members and freelance consultants, with a broad range of skills, expertise and experience.

Richard became Chief Executive of Terrence Higgins Trust in March 2023. He was previously the charity’s Campaigns Director and interim Head of Policy & Public Affairs.

Roger joined aidsmap in 2008 and was Managing Editor from 2018 to 2024. As a freelancer, he now edits aidsmap’s news and conference coverage, as well as working on updates to About HIV pages. He is also a contributing science editor for TheBodyPro, a freelance journalist for The Lancet HIV, and a medical writer helping researchers prepare articles for peer-reviewed journals. He began working on HIV at Gay Men Fighting AIDS in the mid-1990s.

Kian joined Terrence Higgins Trust in 2022 and leads on Digital and AI for the charity. He has previously held leadership roles with Crohn’s & Colitis UK, Diabetes UK, WellChild and Great Ormond Street Children’s Charity.

Amelia joined Terrence Higgins Trust in 2025 and manages the digital content across the organisation. Before this, she worked at the aidsmap charity for nine years, six of those as Websites & Digital Content Manager.

Tom has worked with NAM since 2002. He is responsible for developing our websites and digital products, including aidsmap.com, infohep.org, and prepineurope.org. He also works with partner organisations to support and enhance their digital capacity.

Keith joined the editorial team of the National AIDS Manual (NAM) in 1991, launched the aidsmap website in 1998 and was the Senior Editor of NAM and aidsmap until 2018. He now contributes news and conference reports as a freelancer.

Edith is a science writer specialising in HIV and other infectious diseases. Her work focuses on equitable access to HIV testing, prevention, and treatment across Africa, examining how research translates into real-world impact for communities. She is particularly drawn to covering advanced HIV disease and the structural inequalities that drive the epidemic. Edith first joined the aidsmap Emerging Voices programme in 2021.

Zekerie holds a master’s degree in Virology and tutors both general and molecular biology. He has a vested interest in pandemic viruses and pathogen-host interactions. He is particularly interested in HIV cure research and HIV treatment, as well as environmental and sociocultural influences on the wellbeing of people living with HIV.

Dr Krishen Samuel is a queer scholar whose work centres on HIV, race, gender, sexuality, and intersectional identities. After completing a master’s degree in Global Public Health and Policy in London, he earned a PhD in Health Behaviour and Community Health Promotion as a Fulbright scholar in the United States. He is the Executive Director of EquiDiverse Synergy, a specialist consultancy embedding equity and inclusion and delivering tailored, data-driven research insights for organisations. He currently lives in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Abbey is a freelance Health Editor who works on aidsmap's About HIV pages. She previously worked full time at aidsmap as an HIV Information Editor. Our review panels
We work with a wide range of healthcare professionals to ensure our information materials are accurate and up to date. We also work with people living with HIV and other HIV organisations who contribute their expertise and share their experiences when reviewing our patient information resources.
