The World AIDS Day Red Run is returning this year to Victoria Park, London and is now open for registration.

The Red Run is an annual charity fun run to mark World AIDS Day and raise awareness of, and money for, HIV support services across the country. Last year, 2000 people took part in the Run, raising funds for 31 charities.

Want to take part in this year’s event in support of NAM aidsmap? You’ll be helping to raise vital funds so we can continue to provide information to people living with HIV.

This year is a very special year for us – it’s our 30th birthday! So why not set yourself a challenge and register to run for us? You can have a read through some of the stories from people who have taken part in races and marathons over the years for NAM aidsmap here.

The 2018 Run

The 2018 Red Run takes place on World AIDS Day – Saturday 1 December – in Victoria Park, east London and is hosted by Positive East.

You can choose to run either a 10K or 5K course. Everyone is welcome to take part in the run – all levels, ages and abilities. Pets are also welcome!

This year’s Run will include:

  • A pop-up AIDS Memorial
  • Poster exhibition of HIV support and prevention campaigns
  • Panels of the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt on display
  • Community area including charity stalls
  • Free hot drinks throughout the day
  • Pre, during and post run entertainment, including drag girl band superstars DENIM and Horse Meat Disco
  • After party hosted by the People’s Park Tavern. Make sure you invite your friends and family – all are welcome to join.

Launch party

The 2018 Red Run Launch Party is taking place on Friday 21 September and being hosted by Eagle London (349 Kennington Lane, Vauxhall, SE11 5QY).

Eagle London will provide food, drinks and entertainment. The event will start at 6pm and will include a performance by Red Run hosts and performers, DENIM.

The party is open to everyone so please do invite your friends, family, colleagues and supporters. It’s a great opportunity to meet other people taking part in the Red Run and the charities the run is supporting, and celebrate the launch of this year's event.

Visit the Red Run Launch Party Facebook event page for more information.

Community Consensus Statement on Access to HIV Treatment and its Use for Prevention

Together, we can make it happen

We can end HIV soon if people have equal access to HIV drugs as treatment and as PrEP, and have free choice over whether to take them.

Launched today, the Community Consensus Statement is a basic set of principles aimed at making sure that happens.

The Community Consensus Statement is a joint initiative of AVAC, EATG, MSMGF, GNP+, HIV i-Base, the International HIV/AIDS Alliance, ITPC and NAM/aidsmap
