HIV prevention news: England

The Department of Health has funded a new national programme of HIV prevention for gay men, other men who have sex with men and African communities in England. It is called HIV Prevention England (HPE) and NAM is one of the partners in the programme. For more information on the programme, you can download a briefing document here (pdf), produced by the lead partner, Terrence Higgins Trust.

One of NAM’s roles in the new programme is to offer a regular update on the evolving evidence, news and policy of interest to people working in HIV prevention in England.

We have therefore launched a new monthly email bulletin which aims to do this.

The bulletin gives a concise update of the most important developments in the field. HIV prevention news: England covers the latest epidemiological data, behavioural insights, research on new prevention technologies, evaluations of interventions, guidance and policy developments.

As well as research from the UK, we cover international studies that are relevant for people working on HIV prevention for gay men, other men who have sex with men and African communities in England. The bulletin is for anyone providing, commissioning or influencing HIV prevention work, including in clinical settings.

Each monthly issue includes:

  • Short summaries of the most important developments
  • Links to more detailed news stories and research reports
  • Links to background material
  • A selection of news stories from other high-quality sources.

You can sign up to receive this new monthly bulletin on the right-hand side of this page. We'd be grateful if you could let your colleagues and networks know about the bulletin too, for example by sharing the link to this page, or by putting a poster on a staff noticeboard.
