Description
Telephone, web-based and email service which is a gateway to HIV services, information, support and social welfare advice for anyone living in the UK. Providing confidential, one-to-one emotional support to callers, whether callers are HIV-positive, affected by HIV or have concerns about their sexual health. THT Direct offers information on a wide range of topics, including, but not limited to: safer sex and transmission, HIV and other sexual health issues, HIV testing and screening for sexually transmitted infections, accessing PEP, dealing with an HIV diagnosis, treatment, adherence and side-effects, disclosure in all contexts, travel, viral load and CD4, accessing clinical and other support. As well as information on the phone, THT Direct can send out printed information to callers. The advice team at THT Direct offer accredited advice on issues such as benefits, housing, debt, immigration and employment and can also offer information and referrals on issues such as insurance and criminal HIV transmission, people living with HIV can be seen face-to-face on a limited basis. The team can also assist with applications to the hardship fund.
