Description
Positive East is a leading community-based HIV Charity, providing a fully comprehensive and co-ordinated practical and emotional support for those people living with and affected by HIV in east London. Its Vision is a world where people living with HIV are able to fulfill their potential, free from stigma and discrimination, living full healthy lives. It provides an free and impartial telephone advice helpline (020 7791 2855) Mon to Friday (English bank holidays excl) from 9.30am to 5pm, providing information on housing, benefits and general health support for people living with or affected by HIV. In addition, it holds regular outreach sessions in clinics across east London, plus support groups (for African and Gay Men), emotional and wellbeing counseling and 1-2-1 peer support, as well as careers/employment support for people with HIV seeking to return to the workplace. Its IT cafe and gym are free to use by service users, with disabled accessible. Located 1 minutes walk from Stepney Green tube station (Zone 2 London underground) on the District and City & Hammersmith lines. Car parking available at rear of building.
