International AIDS Society names NAM official conference news provider

This article is more than 15 years old.

Clinical Care Options (CCO), a leader in education for healthcare professionals, and NAM, an award-winning community-based HIV information provider, have been named the official providers of online conference coverage and news from the 5th International AIDS Society Conference on HIV Pathogenesis, Treatment and Prevention (IAS 2009) in Cape Town, South Africa, July 19-22, 2009, and the XVIII International AIDS Conference in Vienna, Austria, in 2010.

"We continue to be impressed with CCO's coverage of our annual meetings and are pleased to extend this relationship for the next 2 years," said Craig McClure, Executive Director of the IAS. "The addition of NAM's timely news reports will provide even greater coverage for the 5000 delegates we expect in Cape Town, as well as those unable to attend, who will be well served by the editorial expertise and reach of both organisations."

Conference coverage of the meeting will be the fourth official IAS programme produced by CCO and will include summaries of important data presented in Cape Town as well as Expert Analyses of the impact of those data on the care of HIV-positive individuals around the world.

"We are honored to be selected again to deliver critical new information and educational resources from this important international scientific meeting to HIV treaters worldwide," said Jeffrey L. Drezner, MD, PhD, CCO's Chief Executive Officer and Founder. "By collaborating with NAM, we will be able to reach many more clinicians with even broader coverage of this esteemed conference."

NAM will provide daily coverage of the IAS 2009 meeting, including news reports and highlights bulletins in five languages, and both the NAM and CCO websites will be linked and integrated to bring full coverage to both organisations' free subscribers around the world.

"We're excited to work more closely with IAS and CCO this year and to continue to provide the important news from IAS 2009," said Caspar Thomson, NAM's Director. "Together, we will be able to provide extensive access to the proceedings to both our audiences."
