HIV can be transmitted via unsafe injecting practices.

It is passed on in two ways:
  • Through sharing injecting equipment. This includes water, spoons, filters, but the most important risk comes from sharing needles and syringes

  • Through unprotected vaginal or anal sex.

Safer injecting will:
  • Protect you from HIV and AIDS

  • Protect you from other infections

  • Help protect you from dirty hits

  • Help protect you from pain and damage when you inject yourself.
