Few data are available on atazanavir (Reyataz) use in pregnancy. One small observational study involving nine women taking atazanavir has shown that it is well tolerated during pregnancy. This included six women taking ritonavir (Norvir)-boosted atazanavir. All of the women had viral loads below 100 copies/ml by delivery, and there were no liver, kidney or pancreas side-effects. Three of the eight babies born had mild bilirubin elevations, and all eight were HIV-negative after birth[1].
