RO033-4649 is an experimental anti-HIV drug which belongs to the class of drugs known as protease inhibitors. These drugs target the HIV protein called protease to reduce HIV replication and thus to reduce the amount of HIV in the blood.

RO033-4649 was being developed by Roche, but development was stopped in October 2005.

Test tube studies showed that RO033-4649 was active against virus which has high levels of resistance to four out of five protease inhibitors.
