Training and development
Training is provided both through the voluntary and statutory sectors. Trainers may be attached to drug teams, part of broader training teams (e.g. within Social Services) or in a small number of cases be dedicated drugs or drugs and HIV training units. In addition, there are a number of freelance trainers operating in the private sector.
A number of agencies or individuals offer consultancy or management services to drugs agencies. These may be freelance staff or be part of training or direct drugs agencies. A number of large charities exist to develop and manage drugs projects which may include some of these services within the infrastructure.
