Setting up your own business
Many people with HIV have thought of setting up their own business as a way of taking control over their working hours and a way of dealing with not having to disclose their status to an employer. As with anyone setting up a business this should be approached with prudence and caution. The demands and responsibilities of running your own business should not be underestimated.
There are many Business Start-up courses around that offer basic advice on how to go about setting up your own business. It would also be advisable to contact the Small Business Advice Centre nearest you who can advise on all the various aspects and steps necessary for successfully setting up your own business, and New Deal at Jobcentre plus also offers advice and guidance.
