Our Healthier Nation is a consultative green paper published in February 1998. It addresses social inequalities, targets the workplace and schools, and aims to ensure that all schools are `healthy schools' through collaboration with the DFES.

The National Healthy Schools Awards Scheme was launched by the DfES in alliance with the Department of Health. Its aim is to ensure that all schools are healthy schools in accordance with Our Healthier Nation. It is based at the Health Development Agency.

A reduction in unintended teenage conceptions is one of the main aims of the UK's  Sexual Health and HIV strategy.
