Your money

NAM is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation, and UK registered charity. We rely on donations from the public, from charitable trusts & foundations and from businesses to enable us to deliver our vital HIV and AIDS information services to people around the world.

Every year, with your support and generosity, we make a big impact on the lives of people with HIV. But in terms of the funding we receive and the number of staff we have, we are a tiny, independent community-based organisation (CBO). Find out more about how we make a difference here.

This year we need to raise just over £1.25million (GBP) to fund our vital information services. We are so grateful to every single person, trust, foundation and company who donates, or has donated in the past. It is your commitment and generosity that underpins everything we do.

No matter how big or small – every donation really does make a difference to what we can achieve for people affected by HIV.

One person told us:

The fact that I am still here after 10 years of diagnosis has a lot to do with your work.

But we simply couldn't do it without you.

What your money can achieve

£5 could help towards

  • Keeping seven people across the world up to date with the latest developments in HIV through our news bulletins from all the major HIV conferences each year.
  • Providing an information pack for someone newly diagnosed with HIV in the UK – supporting them to understand HIV and how to look after their health.

£10 could help towards

  • Supporting someone to talk confidently with their healthcare teams and take an active part in their treatment decisions with our quarterly newsletter, HIV Treatment Update.
  • Keeping aidsmap.com updated, so people dealing with HIV anywhere in the world can access the information they need, whenever they need it.
  • Delivering vital practical information to healthcare and CBO staff in some of the areas most devastated by HIV and AIDS through HIV & AIDS Treatment in Practice to support the scale-up of treatment, prevention and care services.

£50 could help towards

  • Mapping HIV services across the world to improve advocacy, information sharing, referrals and networking.
  • Keeping a sexual health clinic in the UK supplied with patient information materials.
  • Providing 15 healthcare workers based in the countries worst affected by HIV with relevant, up-to-date and practical information on the latest developments and best practice to support the roll-out of HIV treatment, through our twice monthly e-newsletter, HIV & AIDS Treatment in Practice (HATIP).

£100 could help towards

  • Producing patient information booklets and factsheets that break down complex, often frightening, information into something understandable and reassuring, and improve a person’s confidence about life with HIV.
  • Translating and adapting our patient information booklets for use where there is a desperate need for clear, accurate, impartial information.
