Your feedback

The voices of our users are heard and listened to, taken seriously and acted on. Our resources are better as a result of this. This has helped make sure lots of other people benefit from having high-quality, reliable, trusted information about HIV and AIDS.

Here are some examples of how you’ve helped us make things better

The basics – feedback from healthcare professionals and people living with HIV in the UK suggested there was a need to develop a new format for treatment education materials that would be appropriate for people who wanted very simple information, whose first language is not English, or who are less comfortable with written English. NAM ran focus groups and interviews with people living with HIV and professionals to find out more about what this resource might be. The individuals involved really helped shape our thinking about what topics should be included, what the end resource would look like and what images worked and didn’t work. NAM’s designer and patient information editor then developed ‘the basics’ into a series of visual leaflets.

Your idea caught on in the rest of Europe and now the leaflets have been translated into over 10 different languages

HIV & stigma – NAM ran four focus groups to help us develop this patient booklet. The original booklet was felt to be too cold and daunting and medical looking. The groups gave amazing amounts of feedback telling us what was and wasn’t working well. On the back of this, the booklet was completely redesigned, content made easier to find and new sections were added. It is much better as a result of listening to our users. And here it is…

So, a big thank you

Thanks to all of the professionals and individuals living and working in HIV across the UK and around the world, who have played a part in shaping NAM’s resources, and making sure information is valuable, accessible and useful to a huge local and international audience.
