AVERT

AVERT is an international HIV and AIDS charity based in the UK, with the aim of AVERTing HIV and AIDS worldwide. Their website www.avert.org has lots of interesting features, including a photo and video gallery and a history section.

The Body

Based in the USA, but useful for people living with HIV all over the world, www.thebody.com contains an extensive collection of articles from HIV newsletters and other publications around the world, and an exclusive 'Ask the Experts' forum for you to put questions to the leading doctors.

Health Talk Online

Formerly known as DIPEx, www.healthtalkonline.org is a website which aims to share people's experiences of health and illness. There is an HIV module containing video clips of interviews in which people describe their experience of HIV.

HIVInsite

The University of California in San Francisco run a website at www.hivinsite.com which brings together a vast amount of international knowledge, including reports, news and links.

Medscape

The Medscape website www.medscape.com/hiv-aidshome is designed to provide doctors with continuing medical education on HIV. The site also provides links to journals, daily news and conference coverage.

My Health Gen

www.MyHealthGen.com is a social networking website with a focus on medical conditions. Members can find other people with the same diagnosis to share experiences and find advice and support.

T-cell chronicles

www.tcellchronicles.org publishes stories and articles written by anyone who feels part of the global HIV community. The aim is to challenge discrimination, break down social barriers and give a platform for people living with HIV to share their experiences.

Terrence Higgins Trust (THT)

The Terrence Higgins Trust website http://www.tht.org.uk/ contains lots of information including an 'Information Resources' section, which includes all their publications. 

UNAIDS

United Nations AIDS Programme website, www.unaids.org contains information about the activities of the programme, access to policy documents and records of UNAIDS-sponsored interventions; statistics on the global epidemic - useful for researching or studying the situation around the world.

Vive la Différence

Vive la Différence is a website offering information and advice to gay or bisexual men in a relationship where one person has HIV and the other doesn't. It's online at http://together.chapsonline.org.uk/.

What next?

What next? is a website which was created by THT, aimed at gay men who have recently found out they are HIV-positive. As well as written information, there are videos of men who are living with HIV talking about aspects of their lives. It's online at http://whatnext.tht.org.uk/.
