WHO Director-General shortlist declared

The five candidates to be considered by WHO's Executive Board for the post of Director-General have now been announced. The Board will vote on 28 January to choose one candidate, who will be formally elected by the World Health Assembly in May. The candidates are as listed below, with links to material published by The Lancet, setting out their positions on WHO and some of the issues it faces.

Dr Pascoal Mocumbi, Prime Minister and former Health Minister of Mozambique. An additional statement of his vision for WHO is available here
