Living with HIV – in your own words

We believe sharing experiences can be very powerful.

To read someone else’s story and feel it chime with your own can be reassuring. To read a story that helps you understand an experience very different to your own can be enlightening. To tell your story and have your words heard by other people can be empowering.

Today, we’re sharing a collection of stories written by people living with HIV.

Spend some time

Set aside some quiet time, make yourself comfortable and explore.

We’re sure you’ll find something that inspires you, or a story that touches you.

These are not examples of what you should do, they are simply first-hand accounts of life with HIV.

A big thank you

We would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to share a story with us.

We love hearing from you and we really value the insights and experience of the people who contact us, whether to give feedback or to share their stories.

Some of these stories have previously been used in our publications and others have never been seen before. Some are recent, some are several years old, but all present one real person’s perspective.

Do you have an experience to share?

We hope to build on this collection, adding new stories and covering new subjects.

If you have a story or experience to share, maybe a tip on how you dealt with something or resolved an issue, we would love to hear from you. You can share your story using the form on the Tell us your story page, or send us an email to info@nam.org.uk.
