Ageing with HIV: A community forum

People with HIV are now living longer, healthier lives. HIV is a condition that very few people have ‘aged’ through and as a result there is limited knowledge and experience amongst individuals and health professionals about the ageing process in the context of HIV. As with any chronic condition, treatment and care needs to account for both HIV and symptoms of ageing.

Coming of age

JUSTRI, a not-for-profit organisation, is running three events across the UK, to encourage people living and growing older with HIV to join in the discussion about ageing; share experiences, ideas, and help collectively expand our understanding of this issue.

‘One of the unique aspects of HIV care in the UK is that, over the years, it has been actively shaped by people living with HIV and medical experts working together to develop the best services, information and support. I would like as many people as possible to engage with this issue as they move into a new stage in their lives’.  Dr Mike Youle, JUSTRI

JUSTRI will update their free guide, Coming of Age, based on the input, ideas, shared experience and suggestions from the events, creating a timely, relevant resource for people growing older with HIV and those working to support them.

You can read the resource online at www.justri.org
